Wendel is seeking to fill a GIS focused internship at its Williamsville, New York office for the upcoming summer. The GIS Intern will be recognized as an integral member of the team by the GIS Resource Manager, Analyst, and interdisciplinary departments across Wendel. They will showcase strong organizational skills, diligence, and an enthusiastic energy for GIS processes. Through this internship, the GIS intern will acquire valuable hands-on skills that go beyond the classroom and gain insights into the role of GIS within a consultancy environment. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about their field and seeks innovation in applications. Your functions in our GIS department will enhance your learning experience, but also contribute meaningfully to our projects and goals.

Internship Purpose

  • Work under the supervision of a GIS Manager, performing analytical, technical, and mapping tasks as assigned.
  • Perform GPS data collection.
  • Capture relevant data from multiple online resources and contact data suppliers.
  • Generate and update various maps and databases utilizing Esri’s ArcGIS platforms.
  • Convert, import, and export various file types into GIS. 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a GIS-related degree at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Esri’s ArcGIS suite of desktop software and applications, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, etc., Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.

Hourly range

$18.00 – $2.002

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Hourly rate offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The rate offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
