Senior Architect – Public Sector

Wendel is seeking a committed and talented Architect with relevant experience in programming, planning and design for different type of projects out of our office in Atlanta GA. We are seeking someone enthusiastic about design, who is interested in advancing their career and growing in a practice area with dedicated public sector leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with clients and internal teams to develop creative planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovations.
  • Lead planning through all phases, including programming, design, fit-out planning, equipment planning, and casework planning.
  • Develop advanced knowledge in public sector project planning and programming.
  • Develop new and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Participate/lead in top marketing and business development opportunities.
  • Assist in proposal and interview phases to help win work.
  • Actively seek new knowledge in design and planning.
  • Mentor and direct the work of junior staff.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Architecture or a related field.
  • 15 – 20 years of working experience in design firms for Public Sector Projects.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • Software proficiency using MS Office, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling) and others.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based design strategies with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of model building codes and healthcare guidelines.
  • Detailed, methodical, process-oriented, open to change, and motivated by innovation.
  • Great collaborator and communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ambitious initiative-taker with get-it-done attitude who strives for excellence.
  • Career and leadership oriented.
  • Trusted client advisor in public sector field.

Salary range

$120,000 – $140,000

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
