Wendel Names New Associate Principals

Wendel, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, energy efficiency, and construction management firm, is pleased to announce that the following employees have been appointed to the position of Associate Principal: Jaya Easley, CID; Lauren Glose, PE (VA); Andrew Kelkenberg, EIT; Josh Lingle, CCNP; Justin Parish, RA (NY); Maria Szefler; and Linda Thompson. This appointment recognizes these professionals for their exemplary leadership and commitment to excellence.

Jaya Easley, CID has more than 15 years’ experience as an Interior Designer and has been with Wendel for more than eight years. Her past experience as an in-house designer for a major regional real estate developer has provided her with extensive knowledge of every aspect of commercial planning and design. Through her job experience at Wendel, she has had the opportunity to work on diverse projects and has gained a keen understanding of the construction process and project management skills.

Lauren Glose, PE (VA) is an Environmental Engineer and Business Development professional who has been with Wendel for 11 years. She works with municipalities, water/wastewater authorities, schools, and private industries to study, plan, design, and construct energy efficient, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure. Lauren has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Villanova University and an MS in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Works Association, and the Virginia Water Environment Association. In her spare time, Lauren volunteers with various K-12 Schools to promote STEM and participates in waterway and parks cleanup programs in her community.

Andrew Kelkenberg, EIT has been working in various capacities in the construction industry for the last 12 years. Since 2011, Andrew has assumed Project Management positions while completing his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Since then, Andrew has managed projects ranging from $2 million to $27 million in base contract values, with responsibilities including the review of contract drawings and specifications, the determination of work scope and schedule, direct communication with subcontractors and clients, and processing changes in contract scope.

Josh Lingle, CCNP has been with Wendel for 18 years and has been heavily involved in designing and building the firm’s IT infrastructure. Josh has shown himself to be a natural leader and trusted advisor. His depth of skill and technical expertise have greatly contributed to the reliable and robust technologies that have allowed the IT group to support organizational growth.

Justin Parish, RA (NY) has more than ten years of architectural work experience and eight years with Wendel. He has worked on a number of different project types including, K-12 schools, midrise mixed use commercial buildings, multifamily housing, and hotels. He is involved from initial concept through programing, design, and construction. When approaching projects, he has a keen focus on project feasibility. His experience allows for smart design development. Invested in the education market, Justin recently volunteered for the Emerging Professionals Committee of AIA Buffalo/WNY for portfolio reviews of students from the University at Buffalo.

Maria Szefler has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. Her skills have been applied to a wide range of projects including the City of Buffalo curb and sidewalks, City of Poughkeepsie, and City of Auburn water system upgrade, and the NYPA Energy Services Programs for the University at Buffalo. Maria is experienced in all elements of construction and is known for her skills as a community liaison.

Linda Thompson has been in the industry for over 30 years, 25 of which have been with Wendel. As the firm’s Controller, Linda oversees the operations of the accounting department and prepares the company’s monthly financial reports and revenue projections. She also works with Wendel’s outside accounting firm with the preparation of the annual Federal Acquisition Regulation overhead audit, Financial Statement Review and income tax filings and coordinates and maintains the annual budget process. Linda graduated from SUNY Oswego with her BS in Accounting.
