POSTED 10-24-2024

We’d like to introduce you to Keith Krug, Sr. Associate Principal. Keith is an Energy Engineer with over 25 years of experience. Keith works with all types of clients working towards helping them achieve their energy efficiency goals. In his spare time, Keith enjoys spending time with his family, taking advantage of the Western New York winters by enjoying winter sports, and being active in a German American club.

What does a day in your work life look like?

A typical day includes lots of time on Zoom, on the phone, or out and about meeting with potential clients. My role is mostly business development, so I am regularly presenting on Wendel’s services, technical topics, or attending conferences to attract clients and close new projects. I also spend time coordinating with our great team of internal resources on proposals, marketing materials, and technical assessments.

What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy the professional nature of our friendly staff. The culture we have to help each other and serve our clients makes me proud to work here.

When you’re not making people at work smile, what types of things will we find you doing in your free time?

I spend a lot of time outside regardless of the season and weather. I enjoy working on my property, and using my tractor when the need arises. In the summer, I am active in a German American club with 48 acres of property and lead the largest Germanfest event in upstate New York. I’ve always loved snow, so in the winter my family enjoys various winter sports such as snowmobiling.

Do you have a favorite project that you’ve done since you joined Wendel?

If so, please tell us about it and why it was your favorite. One of my favorite projects earlier in my career was at Perry’s Ice Cream. Who doesn’t love ice cream and being able to see how ice cream is made and helping the facility reduce energy costs was a cool experience. However, some of our more public facing projects like the LED streetlighting upgrade projects, have been very rewarding.  Our 50 plus municipal LED streetlighting projects have improved the quality of roadway and sidewalk lighting in many communities, while reducing operational costs.
