Originally developed by RIC Energy North America, the Hanover II Solar project reflects a strong, collaborative approach across multiple partners and project phases. Wendel began as the predevelopment engineering partner, supporting early feasibility, site analysis, and permitting efforts. Following municipal approvals, project ownership transitioned and Active Solar Development, LLC was selected as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction partner. With an accelerated schedule in place, Wendel was brought back on to build upon our existing knowledge and carry the civil design through final design and construction.
The 33-acre distributed generation solar facility connects to Substation 31006T1 and delivers 4.8 MW DC, with an overall capacity of approximately 6.6 MW AC. Wendel’s role spanned from predevelopment through construction, including surveying, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, SEQR coordination, and site, grading, and stormwater management design. Our team prepared the SWPPP, completed a visual impact analysis with landscape screening plans, and supported driveway permitting and site plan approvals through active participation in municipal meetings.
During construction, Wendel provided civil construction documents and specifications, supported the acquisition of Town building permits and the NYSDEC stormwater permit, and delivered construction administration services. The team also completed as-built survey documentation to support project closeout.
Construction was completed in July 2025, meeting the Owner’s target schedule, and operations began in Fall 2025. The project reflects Wendel’s ability to stay engaged through transitions, maintain continuity, and support successful outcomes in a fast-moving development environment.
