Survey Crew Chief (Williamsville, NY):

In this position, you would be working on various engineering and land surveying projects such as boundary, topographic, highway and construction projects under the direction of the project manager; implementing field requirements; and performing related office tasks such as processing and adjusting data, earthwork calculations and mapping. Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree in related field (or working towards) and five years of documented field experience. Must be familiar with Electronic Data Collection, GPS and Robotic Total Stations, and AutoCAD. This position will require working outdoors in various weather and site conditions. Candidate must also have a valid driver’s license.
Water/Wastewater Engineer (Mid Level) (Williamsville, NY, Syracuse, NY, Rochester, NY):
Wendel, a nationally recognized multi-discipline civil and architectural consulting firm, is looking to hire a full time mid-level Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our New York based design and construction team. This position can be located in our Syracuse, Rochester or Williamsville (Buffalo), NY office locations depending on your current geographic location. This position will serve as both a technical lead and project manager for medium to large scale design and construction projects including distribution system and collection system improvements as well as water and wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation work. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in the water/wastewater disciplines. Bachelor’s or Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related fields is required. A PE is preferred, but we will consider experience and background.
The candidate must have a strong background in water and wastewater process planning, design, and construction administration of large infrastructure projects. Experience should include hydraulics, municipal water and wastewater treatment plant design, and energy usage/analysis. Candidate should be flexible, possess strong management and leadership skills, demonstrate sound communication and work well in a team environment. You must have your own transportation for travel to job sites and client meetings; occasional overnight travel may be required.

This position will assist in the growth and development of our Construction Management Practice Area. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Construction Cost Estimating and Construction Management of multidiscipline buildings and infrastructure projects. An Associate’s Degree in Construction Technology/ Management, Engineering or Architecture is preferred. Proficiency and significant experience with General and MEP Construction Cost Estimating at the Concept Level through detailed Bid Level estimates is required. Use of cost estimating software and development of detailed quantity take offs and application of historical cost data to prepare estimates is essential. Ability to also play a role in the field and/or office oversight, coordination and management of multiple prime sub-contracts, administration of projects, use of scheduling software and use of construction management software is a plus. Candidate should be organized, flexible, possess leadership skills and be willing to travel outside of Western New York up to 20% of the time.
