The City of Batavia identified the need to upgrade its existing wetland and lagoon wastewater treatment system. To support this effort, the City engaged Wendel to develop a plan that enhances treatment performance while reusing key components of the existing green infrastructure. Wendel’s work includes integrating new treatment technologies, improving overall system efficiency, and guiding the City through funding opportunities.
Through this partnership, Wendel has helped the City secure more than $18 million in grant funding, including awards from the NYS Intermunicipal Grant (IMG) Program and NYSERDA. These funds significantly reduce the financial burden of the improvements and support the long term sustainability of Batavia’s wastewater treatment system.
