Wendel’s survey team performed survey work on Luna Island, a small island nestled between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls in Niagara Falls, NY.  Responsibilities included survey work for the reconstruction of the pathways and rock walls that will make the island a more attractive and a more natural site. Wendel  also did the initial survey of the island in 2007 and is working on the construction end of the project providing control, layout and recording and mapping as-built locations.

Scope of Services included:

  • Recover and verify existing control and establish secondary control as needed to be used for identifying project boundaries, horizontal and vertical alignments relative to project requirements.
  • Provide field and office support to create field data files and construction stakeout as noted below.
  • Provide construction layout as directed by MCI to include, but not limited to, boulder walls, walk-ways, railings, pavers, utilities, landscape plantings, site grading, drainage, light poles, benches, etc.
