Wendel provided comprehensive design, bidding, and construction services for rehabilitating the Niagara County Water District Raw Water Pump Station. The project focused on replacing aging infrastructure with higher-capacity, energy-efficient equipment to improve reliability and operational performance.

The scope included replacing the existing 250 HP pumps and motors with vertical turbine pumps designed for greater efficiency and upgrading critical control systems. The team replaced the four variable frequency drives (VFDs), the programmable logic controller (PLC), and associated conduit and wiring. In addition, discharge piping, valves, and insulation were removed and installed with modern, durable replacements to ensure long-term functionality.

Mechanical improvements were also a key part of the project. Existing exhaust fans, louvers, and mechanical controls were demolished and replaced with upgraded systems, enhancing environmental control and overall operational safety. Together, these improvements provided the Niagara County Water District with a more reliable, efficient, and manageable pump station capable of meeting the community’s demands for years to come.
