Key project experience includes: • Construction of a 1.6 MGD activated sludge WWTP • Solids dewatering and chemical system upgrades • Construction and rehabilitation of 16 sanitary sewer pump stations • Inflow and infiltration reduction programs • CDBG‑funded sewer system improvements • Design and construction of a sanitary sewer system serving 10,000 residents
Wendel also led a regional sewer initiative to decommission the Wilson Wastewater Treatment Plant, construct a new pump station, and direct flows to the upgraded Newfane WWTP. Improvements at Newfane enhanced reliability, replaced aging infrastructure, and increased capacity to accept additional flows.
To support these efforts, Wendel helped the Town secure critical funding through programs such as: • CDBG Public Infrastructure • NYSEFC Water Infrastructure Improvement and Hardship Funding • NYSERDA FlexTech and Industrial Incentive programs • USDA Rural Development • NYSERDA PON & Demonstration Projects • New York State REDI Initiative
