This Senior Engineer will serve as both a technical lead and project manager for medium to large scale study, design, and construction projects involving water and wastewater treatment, storage, pumping and distribution/collection systems. Responsibilities:

Become the trusted advisor to our established water and wastewater clients and supplement our sales team in the development and securing of new project work.
Diagnosing, analyzing and implementing treatment process improvements.
Optimization of treatment plant operation systems including: Pretreatment, Filtration, Chemical disinfection, Residuals and Energy systems.
Asset evaluation and related long-term capital planning.
Hydraulic modeling of treatment system processes and storage systems.
Supplementing utility staff with water and wastewater expertise in critical situations.
Represent the Wendel Water/Wastewater Group on a regional and national level through professional organizations, technical presentations, and key partnerships.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related fields is required, a Master’s Degree is preferred.
Current PE license is required.
The ideal candidate has 20 plus years of experience in the water and/or wastewater discipline, however individuals seeking to leverage a broad portfolio of experience who are interested in becoming focused within the Water market will also be considered.

Wendel continues to grow and we are looking for our next dynamic and highly motivated Energy Engineer to join our diverse and expanding team out of either our Rochester, Albany or our Williamsville offices. This position has a tremendous amount of growth potential.

Energy Engineers work on the development of comprehensive and investment grade energy audits to create various energy conservation measures (ECMs) across a variety of client sectors and facility types. This includes data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking. Engineers conduct field visits, work on energy calculations, and develop energy measure descriptions with detailed work scope packages including cost estimates and contractor pricing.

Energy Engineers also excel at report writing, creating project design documents, and the development of measurement and verification plans with contract documents. Energy Engineers assist the project management team with design, bidding, and construction of these Energy Efficiency related projects.

Qualifications:

2 to 14 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, solar, other renewables).
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field is ideal.
Certified Energy Manager in Training (CEM IT) or other industry related certifications is ideal.
Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
Building modeling experience is a big plus.
Hands on HVAC and commissioning/retro-commissioning experience.
The ability to complete multiple tasks, on multiple projects, by deadlines.
QA/QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
Experience supporting construction activities during implementation.
Experience working on energy audits and or energy related construction projects.
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
