Open Positions

Energy Engineer (New York, NY):


Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join our energy team in our Long Island, NY office. In this position you will be responsible for developing comprehensive energy audits, including data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking; field visits; energy calculations; cost estimates and contractor pricing, energy measure descriptions and detailed work scope packages; report writing; development of measurement and verification plans and contract documents. You will also assist with management of design, bidding and construction. We are looking for a mid-level engineer with 5-7 years of related experience and a Bachelors degree. Experience in evaluating lighting & HVAC systems and DOE-2 building modeling experience is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.


Civil Transportation Leader (Williamsville, NY, Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY):


This position will support the values and goals of Wendel with an emphasis on building strong relationships and the company’s presence in Western New York.  In addition to developing new client relationships, responsibilities include existing client management, planning and organizing of transportation project work, assisting with or leading project design and acting as a technical liaison and resource for clients. The ideal candidate will also develop strong relationships with internal customers to facilitate collaboration across all lines of business. This individual may act as Team Leader or in a supervisory capacity and may also act as an advisor to less experienced professionals, other staff and to clients directly.

Project Manager (New York, NY):


Wendel is looking for a candidate with 5+ years of accomplished project management experience; experience in direct construction activities related to energy efficiency projects preferred for our Long Island office. Candidate will be responsible for multiple projects and oversee multiple subcontractors, design consultants and equipment vendors in cooperation with a staff of engineers to implement energy efficiency projects from initial audit through construction. Multitask both administration and management functions including overseeing the development of ASHRAE Level II audits, oversee development of design documents, production of biddable documents, and oversee construction leads. BS/BA preferred.

Wastewater Engineer (Williamsville, NY):


Experience in hydraulics, municipal water and wastewater treatment plant design, and energy usage/analysis will add to our team’s strength. The candidate must have a strong background in water and wastewater process planning, design, and construction administration of large infrastructure projects. Responsibilities also include assisting in the engineering and management of project assignments to meet the needs of Clients. Bachelor’s or Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required. A PE is preferred, but we will consider experience and background. We are looking for 5-15 years of experience. You must have your own transportation for travel to job sites and client meetings, and occasional overnight travel may be required.


Survey Manager (Williamsville, NY):


We are looking for a star player to join our Survey department. You are the ideal candidate if you are proficient in 3D survey development projects such as construction, landfills, topographic surveys and capital improvement projects, have experience in the boundary survey market, experience working within multidiscipline teams, the ability to multi-task and manage a team. You must also be comfortable mentoring and developing current and new staff. Wendel is looking for business development acumen and someone with an existing client portfolio. This person needs to be able to project ahead to the future and have a sense of the “big picture.” We require a P.L.S. license and 10-15 years of experience. Project Manager (Richmond, VA, Washington, D.C.):


Wendel is seeking a dynamic and outgoing professional to join our project management team. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, engineering or architecture is required. Civil/structural engineering background or multidiscipline design and construction experience is preferred. Critical skills include excellent written and verbal communication, excellent planning and organization and an ability to facilitate win-win conflict resolution. Business development experience within various market sectors is a plus. Other beneficial attributes include Project Management Certification and familiarity with software tools such as MS Project and MS Office. Travel is required. Minimum BS degree is required.
