Wendel is seeking enthusiastic Architecture student to intern at our Alexandria, VA location! We are looking for those who thrive in a fast paced, team focused, and collaborative studio – working environment.

As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects as a fully integrated member of the team, from initial design studies to construction documentation. More than most firms, we provide project leadership and encourage collaboration between all team members. We frequently work hand in hand with graphic designers, interiors specialists, fabricators and other architects, many of whom are considered leaders in their respective fields. Wendel’s internship program balances project work with education sessions about the field to create a comprehensive overview for our interns.

Internship Purpose

  • Work on real life projects like schools, private development, and transportation facilities.
  • Actively work on projects with team members in Alexandria, but also other architects in other offices.
  • Collaborate with team members of all levels.
  • Assist with actual project tasks, such as conceptual design, construction administration, detailing and red lines. These tasks are dependent on the projects in the office at the time of the internship.
  • Develop a better understanding of the architecture field.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Architecture an accredited institution.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • A student who is a self-starter, collegial, diligent, and eager to learn about the day-to-day realities of a career in architecture.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.

Energy Engineer Internship

Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Energy Engineer to intern and work directly with our Energy Engineer team in Long Island. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Work on real life projects like the development of comprehensive and investment grade energy audits, including data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking.
  • Actively work on projects with various energy conservation measures (ECMs) across a variety of client sectors and facility types.
  • Engage in direct support of reducing greenhouse gases and climate change.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineers.
  • Assist with field visits, energy calculations, cost estimates and contractor pricing, energy measure descriptions and detailed work scope packages; report writing, and project design documents.
  • Develop measurement and verification plans and contract documents.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent PC skills. Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • Experience in some technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, renewables) a huge plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.

Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated Construction Management student to intern during Summer 2025 working directly with our Construction Management team out of our Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Richmond, Virginia offices. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Exposer to real life projects like the construction of multidiscipline buildings and major infrastructure upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Architecture and others on the Construction team to ensure client satisfaction and goals are met on assigned projects.
  • Assist with field visits and project superintendent activities, cost estimating, project management, and contractor pricing.

 

Qualifications
