American Family Fitness wanted to provide a relaxed and “spa like” feeling for their new fitness facility located in Williamsburg, Virginia. The use of light and dark wood finishes, clear soft colors, natural stone, concrete counters with mirror/glass chips, all helped create the “spa look” that the client wanted to reflect.

Upon entering the facility, a video wall projects nature scenes, in combination with fitness center information. The open space allows one’s eyes to view the entire fitness center, while breaking up the volume of the space with interesting architectural elements. Wood flooring “paths” were used to lead members throughout the space. The locker rooms and wet areas provide members with a Five Star spa experience with the use of natural river stones to bring nature into the interior of the space.
