ATI Allvac, a specialty alloyed steel provider, asked Wendel to design and implement the installation of new ESR furnaces and separate the utility services to both the new and existing furnaces to increase their capacity. All construction related to the installation and modifications had to be done under an extremely aggressive schedule without impacting the existing operations.

In order to meet the schedule, while providing the detailed planning required to allow continued operations, Wendel proposed a fast-track, design-build approach. Wendel worked with the owner, contractors and suppliers to provide a staged construction schedule that met the owner’s production needs. The completed project enabled ATI Allvac to run each furnace independently thus doubling their production output, all without disrupting their production schedule.
