Coyer Field Press Box
Sporting events are at their most enjoyable when spectators feel close to the teams, coaches, announcers, and the action on the field. When Buffalo State College decided to construct a new press box at Coyer Field, they wanted to fix the disconnect created by the existing press box, which was located opposite the bleachers and thus segregated the teams and their fans. The new press box is a free-standing structure at the 50 yard line, overhanging the bleachers, keeping the people inside connected with the game. A fully ADA compliant circulation tower, clad in glazed concrete, brings spectators and coaches up from the existing parking lot to the viewing level, which is adorned with panels in the College’s colors. A VIP room and filming deck add further utility to the structure, all while placing fans at the center of the action, where they should be.
