City of Oswego

Energy Performance Contract

Wendel was hired by the City of Oswego to make energy efficiency improvements at its water treatment plant as well as two booster pump stations. The improvements were focused on the rehabilitation of both raw and finished water pumps, involving the total rebuild of two 450 Hp pumps and one 350 Hp pump. New motors with variable speed drives were installed along with an automated control system that maximizes efficiency by modulating pump speeds. Beyond just design and engineering services, Wendel also provided energy evaluation and and energy grant services in order to save the City of Oswego money, winning approximately $125,000 in energy incentives from NYSERDA through their CIPP program.
