Dermatology Associates of Virginia provides medical and surgical treatments for skin disease. Their new 12,000 sf medical office space is located on the second floor of the Wendel designed ground-up Medical Office Building for Reynolds Development.

As a busy office, Dermatology Associates of Virginia wanted to create a waiting area to accommodate their patients that did not feel like a “bus depot”.  The Wendel designers created an inviting space with a hospitality feel. To accommodate their patient population, the furniture and fabrics selected were not only warm, inviting and beautiful, but durable and easily maintainable as well.
Lighting and color played an important role in the design of the exam spaces. It was essential that the space provided ample light with a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) for physicians to accurately diagnose their patients.

The interior design reflects a palette of carefully selected grays with pops of color in the fabric and wallcovering. The bright blue and green color from their logo was pulled for inspiration and coordinating colors were selected and used throughout the space. Custom wallcovering of X-ray flowers speaks to the organic beauty that complements the practice of dermatology.
