2017 Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE) Award – Best Suburban Office

The project involved the renovation of three floors with a complete renovation of the first floor space which had been occupied by Covington. The space had not been renovated since occupancy in the 1980’s. There were also modifications made to the Building exterior, with particular attention to updating the main entrance, making it much more welcoming.

Keiter wanted to create an open reception area and conferencing center on the first floor, along with other amenity spaces including a training center, a fully outfitted employee break room and kitchen.

Keiter also desired an updated aesthetic. The space was “tired” and dated in its appearance with a very small building lobby on the first floor with low ceilings and inadequate lighting. The team designed a lobby that involved removing the floor between the first and second floors, creating an atrium lobby with bright natural and LED lighting flooding the space. The result is a beautiful open reception area, complete with a hospitality area and opening onto several glass front conference rooms. The entire office space was also updated with brighter lighting and colors.
