A master plan was developed for a passive recreation park adjacent to the Sturgeon Point Marina. A portion of the site design goal was to capitalize on the views of Lake Erie. The plan was to include a new access road, parking lots, walking trails, boardwalks, a pond, picnic areas, and a restroom facility.

Wendel assisted in securing grant funding for the Town of Evans for design services. Additionally, we provided a topographic and boundary survey for the park property. A master plan for the park was developed with input from the public followed by preparation of final design documents and specifications. The project incorporates asphalt and crushed aggregate walking trails, a lighted entrance road and parking areas, a restroom facility, a lighted boardwalk, a pond for fishing, an overlook along the bluff, picnic groves, a playground, and an amphitheatre area for educational classes and outdoor performances.

Wendel then assisted the Town o f Evans in requesting additional grant funding to implement a Phase 1 construction project estimated to be approximately $800,0000.
