Campus Bike Planning Effort

SUNY Buffalo State sought to improve bicycling activities related to overall transportation conditions at its urban campus with a goal to become recognized as a Bicycle Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists. Wendel, in a support role to the prime consultant Alta Planning and Design, and in collaboration with GObike Buffalo, assisted with overall conceptual planning and design considerations, and also performed mapping, site/transportation assessments and gap analysis for the college campus and surrounds. The project addressed a distinct objective of improving air quality and enhancing alternative transportation options. Beyond the Master Plan task, the project also included plan implementation/infrastructure support and program/educational recommendations.
