The Community Foundation is a leading partner and advocate for philanthropy and service in the Richmond region. The foundations is governed by volunteer boards of leading citizens and run by professionals who are experts in community need. The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond serves the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Colonial Heights and Hopewell and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico and Powhatan.

The Community Foundation relocated their offices into a 16,000 sf space in Scotts Addition.  One of the driving factors for their relocation was to be more central to the community they serve.  Scott Addition posed an opportunity to be not only central to the community, but also to help serve and revitalize a part of the city.

We designed their new space as an open work environment with a variety of collaboration and meeting spaces that support not only their staff but, the community itself.  Introducing a movable partition between two large training rooms created a space the community could use to host their events.  A large garage door connects this space to the outdoor area in the front of the building, allowing events to spill out into the open air.

The design respects the industrial nature of the building while supporting the functional needs of an office environment. Colors and furnishings reflect a comprehensive rebranding effort bringing the colors of their logo into their space. We designed the digital wallcovering in the reception depicting the map of the community they serve.
