Virginia Eye Institute opened a new West End location at Reynolds Crossing. Their new 21,000 sf space is located on the ground floor of the Wendel designed ground-up Medical Office Building for Reynolds Development.

VEI is a comprehensive eye care organization providing a wide range of ophthalmology, optometry, and optical services in 8 locations across Central Virginia. This newest location includes retina and imaging services, a large retail optical center, and several OD and MD office suites.

The patient experience begins at the inviting reception where patients efficiently check in at the modern kiosk check in center. The space was designed to maximize the efficiency of tech work areas, strategically positioning the multiple sub waiting rooms with adjacent exam rooms, providing a smooth and uncomplicated journey for every patient.

Interior design features include a mix of ceilings that are open to structure, floating ceiling clouds featuring pendant lighting and large profile ceiling tiles with linear led fixtures.  The accent ceiling grid and tile mirrors the flooring and graphic carpet throughout the space. Layers of color and pattern ties the whole suite together. The textures and colors of fabric further develop the space into a cohesive and inviting environment for staff and patients.

The bright and inviting lighting leads the patient from the reception waiting into the modern and beautiful retail optical center, which is also visible from the building’s lobby.
