Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission

Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission included a renovation of approximately 100,000 square feet within a Class A office building.  While the four upper floors remained similar to the existing design, the basement required a full renovation to accommodate visitor services.  It was determined that the basement would be the best location for Courtrooms and Mediation due to security concerns, visitor flow, ceiling height and available construction constraints.  This floor now includes (2) Courtrooms, one for hearings and one for review, and corresponding Attorney Consult Rooms, as well as (4) Mediation Rooms and corresponding Mediation Consult Rooms and a large waiting area for both spaces.  The space was designed to be classic and timeless, but with a fresh contemporary palette full of neutral carpet, pale blue walls, custom millwork and accents of wallcovering.  Natural light is certainly not missed with this bright and airy design.
