Affordable Senior Housing

Wendel was retained by Belmont Housing Resources for Western New York to provide design services on their senior housing project. The resulting Woodland Place Apartments provides 86 units of affordable one and two bedroom apartments for independent seniors 55 and older. The Wendel team provided architectural and engineering plans as well as interior design services for this state-of-the-art two story building. Numerous safety considerations went into the design, including emergency pull cords in various locations in each apartment, full wheelchair accessibility and a 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance service. The site has easy access to the bus route and contains ample off-street parking. Conveniences such as laundry facilities and a computer room were also included on site.
