Our public safety design team is looking for a mid to senior level design professional that thrives in a fast paced and team focused working environment. Wendel is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, but we are flexible to a candidate’s home location having the need for this individual in anyone of our Connecticut or New York State offices.

  • Love to execute project development from concept through construction while working with other committed design professionals.

Mid-Level Project Manager

Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Project Management team in the Williamsville, NY region. This individual will support Wendel Companies Project Management Office purpose and values while providing specific project leadership and task management through self-direction and mastery of skills for architecture projects. These skills include scope management, project financials, managing client expectations, stakeholder communication, project scheduling and analysis, and resources management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Sponsors (PS), Operations Managers, Client Sector Leaders (CSL) and Resource Managers (RM’s) regarding the planning, management, and control of selected projects as well as coaching and mentoring project staff.
  • Client relations including risk mitigation and opportunity development.
  • Business Development: manage change and sell additional services as well as develop opportunities with clients they are managing projects.
  • Lead business development activities with current and potential clients and support Marketing with the preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Project Management Reporting: coordinate, manage and validate timely and accurate completion project management reports including percent complete, backlog and sale forecast reports.
  • Develop, review, and monitor project work plans including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
  • Real-time planning, management, control, follow-ups and resolution of internal discipline, sub-consultant, client/stakeholder and contractor assignments, issues, and conflicts.
  • Develop, review, and provide input for project schedule and production of project deliverables.
  • Organize internal staff and external client project meetings, including preparation of agendas, sign-in sheets, handouts, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Organize and schedule client/stakeholder public meetings and presentations, including preparation of presentation handouts, power-point presentations, graphics, etc.
  • Assist RM’s with resource balancing to assure project obligations are met.
  • Plan, manage and control project related communications between client, stakeholders, staff, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Facilitate internal and external quality review and deliverables.
  • Organize and prepare prime and sub-consultant contract scope, schedule, fee, and deliverable changes. Follow-up on execution of contract amendments.
  • Work with Project Accountant on MIS issues, coordinate, monitor, and follow-up on Earned Value Analysis, billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, project budget, and revenue.

  • Implement the processes of the PMO in the execution of projects.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, especially under difficult circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enforce company BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
