We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our Electrical Engineering Resource Group. This opportunity is available in the following offices, Meriden, CT, Atlanta, GA, New York Metro (Fully Remote), Williamsville, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany, NY, Columbus, OH, D.C., Richmond, VA, and Eau Claire, WI. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to focus on four main aspects: 1) Managerial leadership, 2) Technical leadership, 3) Quality assurance, and 4) Business development.

Projects will range from multi-discipline facility oriented project work to innovative, clean energy, electrification/decarbonization efforts. Position goals will include proposal development, basis-of-design, project oversight, quality reviews, document sealing, team mentoring, recruiting, hiring, and expanding Wendel’s presence.

Responsibilities

  • Expert in all facets of electrical engineering – medium and low voltage power distribution systems, lighting and lighting automation, life safety, specialty systems, etc.
  • Verse in National Electrical Code, NFPA, and State level building code requirements.
  • Review, analyze, assess, make recommendations, etc. for electrical systems.
  • Coordination with leaders and managers on company initiatives and project commitments.
  • Business development support focused on electrical engineering.
  • Recruiting and supporting growth of an electrical engineering team.
  • Preliminary assessments and high-level project strategy.
  • Field investigation and condition assessment of existing systems.
  • Assist in proposal preparation.
  • Development of basis of design scopes of work, schematics, etc.
  • Presentation and report writing.
  • Make decisions based on independent evaluation(s) that are in the best interests of clients, projects, and teams.
  • Meeting with clients to support engineering projects throughout design and construction.
  • Review work performed by others; correct, teach, and mentor to build technical skillsets.
  • Work directly with and lead teams, in a collaborative manner, focused on group success.
  • Serve as “Engineer-of-Record” and professionally sign and seal construction documents.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • PE license is required.
  • Expertise in multiple technical areas of Electrical Engineering.
  • Capable and responsible for QA/QC on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability to lead development of construction documents, and support bidding and construction activities during implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Revit software is a plus.
  • Experience building modeling and/or electrical power system software is a plus.
  • Team player.

Salary range

$125,000 – $175,000

Senior Electrical Engineer

Wendel has an established presence in the Northeast region. We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Senior Electrical Engineer, to lead, organize, manage, and execute Electrical Engineering work within our current project portfolio. This opportunity is available in our Albany, NY, or Meriden, CT office. We offer a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities will include client relations, project management, internal team coordination, contractor coordination, engineering design and execution. This is a “seller-doer” position, meaning you will have both client management and project design responsibilities. Power distribution experience, including medium voltage system design, is a plus. The project types you will be involved with include electrification, battery electric vehicle charging systems, transit facilities, college and university facilities, and commercial buildings. Wendel has a diverse portfolio of exciting project types in various markets that provides stability and longevity in workload. This is a long-term career opportunity.
