Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Structural Engineer to intern for the summer working directly with our Structural Engineering team in our Rochester, NY office. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Actively work on projects from concept phase to final design and through construction.
  • Collaborate and share ideas with senior level staff on those projects.
  • Assist with the analysis and design of structural systems/components in steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
  • Participate in project, client and team meetings.
  • Support the team in assisting in conducting facility assessments, writing technical reports, and editing material specifications.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree at an accredited institution, with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent PC skills. Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • Some knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD) a huge plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the Civil Engineering team.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.

Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Electrical Engineer Intern for the Summer to work directly with our Engineering team in our Williamsville, NY, or Columbus, OH offices. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Work on real life projects like identification of work scopes, cost estimates, and production of construction documents.
  • Actively work on all stages of project development.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Senior Engineers.
  • Assist with the design of electrical systems for buildings including fire alarms, power distribution, light design, building system design hazard analysis / arc flash study / arc flash analysis.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering at an accredited institution.

Energy Engineering Internship

Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Energy Engineer to intern and work directly with our Energy Engineer team in Williamsville, NY. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Work on real life projects like the development of comprehensive and investment grade energy audits, including data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking.
  • Actively work on projects with various energy conservation measures (ECMs) across a variety of client sectors and facility types.
  • Engage in direct support of reducing greenhouse gases and climate change.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineers.
  • Assist with field visits, energy calculations, cost estimates and contractor pricing, energy measure descriptions and detailed work scope packages; report writing, and project design documents.
  • Develop measurement and verification plans and contract documents.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a related degree at an accredited institution.
  • Excellent PC skills. Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • Experience in some technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, renewables) a huge plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
