Wendel is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to our growing team! This position is open in our Albany, NY office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering design for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) for new and existing building projects in various markets.
  • Analyze, design, and document HVAC systems including air-side and hydronic systems for a wide variety of project types.
  • Perform mechanical engineering calculations that support the project design.
  • Interact with teammates, clients, contractors, and manufacturer representatives during design and construction.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to develop creative and integrated design solutions for our clients.
  • Engage with other mechanical team members to manage multiple projects and tasks as part of a cohesive team.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology in Engineering.
  • Up to 5 years of experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Experience in related field a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Technical writing experience is preferred.

Salary range

$65,000 – $90,000

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.

Mechanical Engineering Internship

Wendel is looking to hire two enthusiastic and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Interns for Spring or Summer to work directly with our Engineering team. This opportunity is open in our Williamsville and Albany, NY offices. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation.

Internship Purpose

  • Assist in engineering duties for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection projects.
  • Actively work on projects with other engineers, project managers and practice areas.
  • Develop skills through mentorship and guidance to design and engineer of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent PC skills.
  • Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • AutoCad and REVIT experience a big plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.
  • Some experience or knowledge of air handling and distribution, ventilation/exhaust, hydronic, building controls, piping and plumbing systems.
