Wendel Energy Receives National Accreditation
Wendel Energy Services, LLC has achieved national accreditation as an Energy Service Company (ESCO) through the National Association of Energy Service Companies
(NAESCO). Wendel is one of only 13 companies in North America to receive this accreditation.
For more than 20 years, Wendel has been providing innovative ideas in energy efficiency to clients looking to reduce current energy and operating costs. Our Energy Services team uses their engineering and construction expertise to develop and deliver turnkey solutions that are both environmentally friendly and economically responsible.
NAESCO accreditation ensures that Wendel is providing the very best possible services to clients and is a company that develops and implements turnkey, comprehensive energy efficiency projects. The accreditation process is a rigorous examination of our technical competencies, project performance and business practices. Those elements are carefully reviewed by a committee totally independent of NAESCO and comprised of industry experts unaffiliated with NAESCO member companies. The standards driving accreditation are set on maintaining the highest quality standards that can be expected by the customer in providing products, services and energy cost savings.
“Achieving NAESCO accreditation means our organization is among the best in the field. Wendel is proud to be a part of this community of excellence,” said Joseph A. DeFazio, PE, Vice President Wendel Energy Services, LLC.
Wendel Celebrates 75 Years in Business
Wendel is celebrating a significant milestone with its 75th year in business. Founded in 1940, the company started up the same year the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, Greyhound Bus Terminal on Main Street, and Kleinhans Music Hall buildings were constructed.
Wendel was started as a civil engineering firm by one man, Leon Wendel, out of his garage in Lockport, NY. Over the years, Wendel has grown, adding employees and expanding capabilities beyond traditional civil engineering. In recent years, Wendel has experienced exceptional growth, and now has over 220 employees and nine offices nationwide, including two offices in Western New York. Wendel’s services have grown to include architecture, multiple engineering disciplines, planning, energy efficiency and construction management.
Wendel is looking to continue the trend of growth and stability, providing first class service within the communities in which we live and work. The company moved its headquarters to a larger space in Centerpointe Corporate Park in Williamsville, NY earlier this year to accommodate current and future growth. Wendel has hired 34 new employees working in five different offices since January and is continuing to hire.
“The 75th anniversary of Wendel is a major milestone for our company,” said Stewart C. Haney, PE, PMP, President and CEO of Wendel. “Many thanks to our loyal clients, partners and employees who have contributed to Wendel’s longevity and success. Much has changed throughout the years, but our commitment to our clients, staff and community remains the same. We’re proud of what we have accomplished and excited for the future.”
